Provide one-on-one, individualized tutoring for math.
Teach students to implement mathematical concepts discussed in class.
Cultivate the skills students need to effectively solve mathematical problems.
Increase the confidence of student learners.
Cultivate critical thinking.
Create an open environment where students can find answers to their math questions.
Coordinate with Math faculty to design curriculum, coordinate class workshops, and build Math classroom Learning Communities.
Coordinate with Student Learning Center Director and staff.
Work Schedule: Twenty-eight hours weekly, M-F
Master’s Degree in the subject area (or) a Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in the subject area. Strong math skills. Ability to work well with diverse student and faculty populations in a variety of disciplines.
Communication, both oral and written, skills necessary. Must have experience in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
Learning Support experience and tutor credential or tutor course work preferred.
