Reinhardt University invites applications for the position of Dean of the McCamish School of Business & Sport Studies. The position comes with a 12-month contract (renewable) and will start no later than January 2, 2020. The Dean reports to the provost, serves on the Provost’s Council and oversees an engaged and accomplished faculty in areas of marketing, management, accounting, and sport studies.
The McCamish School of Business and Sport Studies is the largest school in the University, serving approximately 35% of the 1,550 students attending Reinhardt University. The McCamish School focuses its instructional philosophy on educating students to be well-rounded, efficient, effective and ethical leaders. The School offers undergraduate programs for traditional learners in accounting, general business, management, marketing and sport studies. The school also offers the BBA online, a degree-completion program, an MBA online, an on-ground Master of Business Administration for adult professionals in Woodstock, GA, and an accelerated, online M.S. in Sport Administration & Leadership. Program Coordinators, drawn from the faculty, oversee each degree program.
The University seeks a Dean who will lead faculty in developing a stimulating educational environment where students have an opportunity to grow and learn through engaged teaching, relevant internships, and undergraduate research. The new Dean should recognize the significance of liberal arts general education provided by Reinhardt and work to integrate the value of broad-based learning with theoretical knowledge and practical know-how in the field of business and sport. The Dean must be able to build a team of active faculty to implement curricula that instills the University’s values: Faith - Leading - Learning. The University also seeks a Dean who champions the profession within a welcoming, Christian context and works to shape business leaders who value diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. Reinhardt, further, seeks a Dean acquainted with issues surrounding higher education accountability, assessment, accreditation, and employability.

An ability to develop a relevant curriculum that values broad-based learning that prepares students to be competitive business leaders in a local, regional, national, and global marketplace and adapt to a rapidly changing environment;
Ability to set, lead, and administrate academic priorities;

A record of teaching excellence, relevant scholarship in the field of business or sport and service to the community;

Commitment to creating an inspired and diversified workplace with an emphasis on advancing an environment that is welcoming to all, that encourages dialogue and that develops servant-leadership;
Ability to lead faculty through strategic planning for the McCamish School of Business, which focuses on conducting thorough academic program reviews, leading assessment of student learning; investigating new program offerings (online and on-ground), developing the level of academic challenge and preparation for students, and recruiting, retaining, and recognizing students in the school of business;
Proven capacity to establish relationships among a variety of constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, board members, and community leaders;
Enthusiasm to lead or assist in the pursuit of grant and fundraising activities for the McCamish School of Business;
Demonstrated capacity to advance the University’s and the School's mission while managing budgetary resources;
Interest in and experience with online education and adult learning programs;
Collegiality, a strong work ethic, honesty, good will, and a sense of humor.
As a faculty member, the Dean will teach six credit hours of undergraduate or graduate courses per fall and spring and oversee internships in the summer. As Dean, responsibilities will include overseeing operations of the McCamish School of Business & Sport Studies and setting a strategic vision for the growth of the School in a way that aligns with the University’s mission and strategic plan.
The position requires an earned doctorate in business from a regionally accredited institution, or a closely-related field. Candidates with a terminal degree in Sport Administration will be considered, with evidence of professional experience in business or an earned MBA. Candidates must show an excellent record of teaching at the university level, along with evidence of progressive growth in rank and responsibility. Candidates should also show a diverse record of teaching experiences— teaching traditional students, online students, and working adults. Candidates with a background in economics or supply chain logistics preferred.
