The Beacom College of Computer and Cyber Sciences at Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota is seeking applicants for an Instructor of Computer and Cyber Sciences for the academic year 2019-2020. This is a full-time, one-year position (non-tenure-track) at the rank of Instructor.
The successful candidate must be able to teach a broad range of core and elective computer and cyber sciences courses at the undergraduate level.
A MS degree in computer sciences, cyber science, digital forensics, cyber security or closely related discipline is required. A Ph.D. is preferred. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate courses, and an ability to work effectively with students and colleagues is required; teaching experience is strongly preferred. The ability to teach, or interest in teaching, online courses is preferred. Finalists for the position must communicate well and successfully complete a teaching demonstration and an interview process.
The position will remain open until filled. The start date for this position is August 21, 2019.
The college is a regional and national leader in computer and cyber sciences. We hold four National Centers of Academic Excellence designations, including the most technical for cyber operations and the most prestigious as a Regional Consultative Resource Center. We host the largest GenCyber camps in the country. These camps, funded by the National Science Foundation, inspire 7-12 graders to explore careers in Cybersecurity. We also host Teacher GenCyber Camps for 6-12 grade teachers in science, technology, engineering, and math. The Beacom College offers Associate, Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral degrees, and in Aug of 2019 we open the Madison Cyber Labs (MadLabs) on our campus. These advanced and secured facilities will bring together students, graduates, and researchers to work on classified and proprietary cyber-related projects.
