North Seattle College is looking for innovative and dedicated part-time faculty members to teach in the I-BEST Programs (Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training). I-BEST instruction entails team-teaching with ABE/ESL/Academic support in one of the following content areas: Healthcare, IT, Electronics, or Early Childhood Education. Schedules may include evening and weekends.  Successful applicants will have a demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves non-traditional and immigrant/refugee students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds in an urban environment. 

Specific teaching assignments will be dependent on the instructor's background and scheduling. Successful applicants may be invited to teach at North Seattle College.

Candidates should be willing to teach in a variety of formats such as in-class, hybrid, online and varied class times including days, evenings, and weekends according to program needs.

This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-Seattle and is subject to union shop provisions.



  • Master's degree in TESOL, Adult Education, Secondary Education, English, or in a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to teach I-BEST (Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training) – previous co-teaching/prof-tech teaching a plus.
  • Working with Adult Basic Education students, recent immigrants and refugees, and diverse at-risk populations in a community college or university.
  • Innovative teaching methods including the use of technology and collaborative learning.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others in a professional setting.
