Laney College



Laney College, in the heart of vibrant, multicultural downtown Oakland, features the cosmopolitan atmosphere and human energy of a big-city university. Laney is adjacent to the Oakland Museum of California, blocks from historic Chinatown and a pleasant stroll from Lake Merritt.

Since 1948, Laney has provided educational opportunities to students throughout the East Bay and beyond. Merritt College



Merritt College is a public, comprehensive, two-year college, maintained by the Peralta Community College District in Alameda County. With a comprehensive day and evening program of transfer, technical, occupational and basic skills education, the College is committed to meeting the educational needs of the diverse student population it serves.

Berkeley City College


Berkeley City College (BCC), one of California’s 112 community colleges, is centrally located in downtown Berkeley, only 1-1/2 blocks from the U.C. campus. The college’s mission is to contribute to the success of all students and to the well-being of the community by offering the best possible education which promises intellectual growth, social mobility, economic development and an understanding of diverse ideas and peoples. BCC is ranked second in the state in the percentage of students who transfer to U.C. Berkeley.

Ranges from $43.81 - $92.55/hour. Salary placement based on education, experience and other provisions outlined in the District's agreement with the Peralta Federation of Teachers.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Peralta Community College District invites applications for our Temporary, Part-Time Faculty pool in the following discipline:

RADIOLOGICAL TECHNOLOGY

Minimum Qualifications

1. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of experience in clinical radiological science; AND Possession of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Registration and State Certification in Radiography (Certified Radiologic Technologist) from the State of California, Department of Health Services Radiologic Health Branch;

OR

2. Possession of an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college of university AND six (6) years of experience in clinical radiologic science; AND Possession of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Registration and State Certification in Radiography (Certified Radiologic Technologist) from the State of California, Department of Health Services Radiologic Health Branch;

OR

3. May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in Radiologic Science.

4. Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
2. Possession of the ARRT Advanced Certification in Mammography, Cardiovascular-Interventional, Quality Management, Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or Bone Densitometry.

3. Additional Certifications, ARRT (T) (NM), CRT-Fluoroscopy, ARDMS

4. Sufficient academic background to use major required texts (e.g., Bushong, Radiologic Science for Technologists, Ballinger, Radiographic Positions and Radiologic Procedures; Landicina, Radiologic Pathology for Technologists, Chabner, Language of Medicine, Torres, Basic Medical Techniques and Patient Care, Adler and Carlton, Introduction to Radiology and Patient Care.)

5. Ability to adapt instructions to students with widely varying academic backgrounds.

6. Membership in appropriate professional organization, (e.g., ASRT, AERS, CSRT).

7. Community College or Radiography teaching experience.

8. Competence in computer skills such as use of electronic mail, Internet, MS Office software, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

For non-Master’s degree disciplines, please note that the District requires two years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree and six years of experience with an Associate’s degree.
