Position Summary:

Position is responsible for the administrative and quality oversight of the EMR and EMT programs, maintaining a minimum teaching load in the EMT and/or paramedic class of eight hours weekly, and serving at the Scope of Practice Administrator for the EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic classes. Position will assist with administration of American Heart Association Training Center activities.

Staff Required Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in field related to area of assignment and four (4) years of progressive responsibility in area of assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Faculty Required Education/Experience Skills:

Associates degree or higher in EMS, education, or related field. Credentialed as NC Emergency Medical Technician and Level II NC EMS Instructor with at least three years experience as an EMS provider.

Desired Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelors degree or higher in EMS, education, or related field. Credentialed as NC Paramedic and Level II NC EMS Instructor at the Paramedic level with at least three years experience as an EMS provider and educator.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Operational knowledge of the NC Office of EMS guidelines for EMS programs, Technical Scope of Practice guidelines, NC EMS credentialing, National Registry credentialing, and on-line learning management systems.
