Who we are
The Health Promotion and Genomics Lab (http://hpg.tamu.edu/ ) in the Department of Health and Kinesiology at Texas A&M University is looking for a three-years Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct social and behavioral science research projects in Public Health Genomics and Cancer Prevention. The HPG lab currently has one Postdoctoral Research Associate and several undergraduate and graduate level student assistants.
What we want
Successful candidate will assist in various tasks, including literature review, study design, survey questions development, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, manuscripts/reports writing, student workers' supervision, and working with the Project Director (Dr. Lei-Shih Chen, Associate Professor in the Department of Health and Kinesiology) for coordinating and managing relevant projects as well as other duties as assigned.

Required Education:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong quantitative and qualitative data collection, management, and analysis skills
- Excellent scientific writing skills
- Excellent computer abilities and language skills in English
- Excellent communication skills and be able to work as a team player
- Being detailed-oriented and patient
- Ability to perform several tasks concurrently and have good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Preferred Education:
- PhD in public health, health education, psychology, sociology, education, anthropology, or related fields
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience in grant management and having prior work experience in grant-funded projects
- Published at least two peer-reviewed articles
Responsibilities:

Data Collection - Managing and analyzing data gathered for research projects. Conduct social and behavioral science research projects in Public Health Genomics, Cancer Prevention, and/or health disparities (please refer to hpg.tamu.edu to learn about the research work in the Health Promotion and Genomics Lab.)

Writing Duties - Writing manuscripts, abstracts, and reports related to research project.

Coordination Duties - Coordinating and managing tasks and time line associated with research project. Performs other duties as assigned.
