Position Summary |
The MOTION Science Institute (https://exss.unc.edu/motion-science-institute/) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking applicants for a DoD-funded postdoctoral researcher position. The postdoctoral trainee will work on a clinical trial evaluating the effects of novel interventions on neuromechanical factors related to post-traumatic knee osteoarthritis development following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The trainee will also gain considerable experience evaluating clinical and research MRI outcomes (e.g. T1 and T2 relaxation times).
Applicants should have a strong background in biomechanics and neuromuscular control, and should hold a PhD (or be ABD at the time of application) in biomechanics or a related discipline (e.g. kinesiology, bioengineering, rehabilitation science, movement science). Clinical training (e.g. physical therapy, athletic training/sports medicine) is preferred but not required. The position start date is July 1, 2021 and is renewable for up to 3 years.
