Overall Description of Responsibility or Nature of Work
The Department of Radiation Oncology at University of Colorado Cancer Center is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the area of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) physics.
We are developing novel imaging technologies to improve tissue visualization and quantitative accuracy in CBCT in this National Cancer Institute funded project. This is expected to lead to significant advances in adaptive radiation therapy, and utilization of CBCT in treatment response and toxicity assessments. The postdoctoral fellow will be directly responsible for the development of new image processing algorithms and optimization of novel imaging hardware in our research CBCT platform. The successful candidate will also help to translate the research CBCT platform into a clinical CBCT system. Other responsibilities involve conducting CBCT imaging experiments, presentation of results in national or international meetings, and preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.
Skills in one or more of the following areas are highly desired:

Physics of x-ray detectors/image sensors

Image or signal processing algorithm development

Optimization and modeling of imaging systems

CT image reconstruction and data correction methods
Specific experience in CBCT imaging or image guided radiation therapy is not required. A track record of peer-reviewed publications is required.
