Summary of Position

Plymouth State University (PSU) invites dynamic applicants who are committed to academic excellence and devoted to teaching in a vibrant learning environment to apply for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing (Non-Tenure-track). Applications are being accepted for a full-time, non-tenure track (9 month) Nursing faculty position teaching pre-licensure undergraduate students in the classroom and clinical areas. The candidate will also be expected to advise undergraduate students and provide service to the university.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • Three years practice as a registered nurse.
  • Two years of relevant college/university level teaching experience.
  • Unencumbered RN license in the State of New Hampshire or eligibility for licensing in New Hampshire.
  • Desire to work as part of a team in the department, cluster and within the University.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience using instructional technology and/or developing and delivering effective online instruction.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in curriculum development and program evaluation.
  • Medical Surgical Background.
  • Simulation Experience.

Duty/Responsibility

Teach undergraduate nursing courses that incorporate current theory and research while employing contemporary instructional design. Areas of responsibility will vary according to the faculty member’s areas of expertise.

  • Provide clinical instruction and/or oversight for students’ clinical experiences including evaluation of student achievement and competence.
  • Direct and debrief students in clinical simulation and labs.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of inter-professional education.
  • Advise and mentor students.
  • Provide service to the program, cluster, university, professional organizations, and/or the community.
  • Collaborate with other nursing faculty to ensure that the nursing curriculum is current and well-developed, i.e., learning outcomes, instructional components, and criteria for evaluation are clearly articulated.
