Student Success Programming Coordinator

This position is limited-term and is funded by a grant from the Department of Education.
This Grant will fund this position through September 30th 2024.
The Student Success Programming Coordinator will develop, implement, and evaluate programming in the Title III grant. The coordinator will focus on enhancing the early success of program students through high-impact practices. He/she will build multiple connection points between students and area employers to expand work-based learning opportunities. The coordinator will collaborate with the Dean of General Studies to manage the Gateway To Success first-year experience course.

This position reports to the Title III Project Manager,
  • 1st consideration will be given to applications received on or before January 31st 2021


  • Collaborate with the Gateway to Success committee and other departments to effectively manage and sustain the Gateway to Success course and related activities.
  • Establish a process to collect, analyze and use non-cognitive assessment data for deploying intervention to at-risk students through the student success support system.
  • Work with Gateway to Success Instructors to coordinate services with institutional programs aimed at academic success of at-risk students such as multicultural student support, veterans support, Heads-Up mentoring, and peer advising.
  • Provide training for Gateway to Success instructors on curriculum, course delivery, and assessment tools.
  • Assist with developing workshops and other activities for at-risk first year students in collaboration with the Learning Success division.
  • Provide leadership and coordination for work-based learning activities in collaboration with the Work-based Learning Committee and the Heads Up Mentoring program.
  • Identify, develop, promote to faculty and students, and evaluate work-based learning opportunities, including work-based mentoring.
  • Provide training for faculty on incorporating work-based learning into their curriculum and instruction.
  • Develop systems and processes for monitoring early momentum and work-based learning strategies and activities.
  • Prepare reports on grant activities and outcomes.
  • Attend Title III work group and committee meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education, counseling, student personnel or related field
  • Experience with student success programs such as first year experience, work-based learning, mentoring, and advising
  • Demonstrated communication and organizational skills
  • Prior experience working with at-risk student populations
  • Ability to collect and analyze data and provide recommendations
  • Knowledge of the Wisconsin Technical College System or two-year community college structure.
  • Knowledge and skills to effectively interact with people from different backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socioeconomic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity.
