Associate Professor of Radiology – Tenure track
The University of Colorado School of Medicine, Department of Radiology is seeking a PhD Scientist to build a strong cardiac, fetal or brain MR-based research program to support pediatric radiology and multidisciplinary research. Expertise in MRI, pulse sequence programming, computational science, informatics, or bioengineering preferred. Proven success in grant funding required.
Department of Radiology, Section of Pediatrics has 25+ Radiologists that practice at Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO). CHCO, located on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora Colorado, is ranked 4th nationally in NIH funding among pediatric hospitals. The Children’s Colorado Network of care includes 285 bed main hospital with the recent addition of 199 bed tower, five satellite locations from Denver to Colorado Springs.
Job Description: The successful candidate will have broad experience and a proven, current track record in NIH-funded MRI research, substantial administrative experience, excellent interpersonal skills to work with and bring together a diverse pool of research scientists in translational research and a broad vision for the development of imaging based research across all disciplines. Expanded capacity in MRI and the opportunity to develop collaborative research with successful institutes within Children’s Hospital, including Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, Maternal Fetal Medicine and MRI.
1) Develop a translational research program that uses cardiac imaging methods to improve outcomes for cardiac surgery procedures for congenital heart disease.
2) Establish an environment that promotes innovation in MRI acquisition and analysis for fetal imaging with a focus on cardiovascular and neuroimaging.
3) Enhance current research and serve as a teacher and mentor to in and outside of the Department of
4) Support CHCO research through collaborations with CHCO faculty to secure grant funding to improve health through advances in imaging.
5) Expand collaboration with industry. The structure of the lab should be such that industry support is encouraged and benefits the investigators, as well as the vendors and ultimately facilitates the translation of imaging research to the advancement of clinical care.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position has been established at $130,000-$150,000.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
