As a faculty member in the Educator Preparation Program (EPP), you will be responsible for the development and instruction of undergraduate and graduate professional education courses using face-to-face and remote teaching and learning approaches. EPP faculty work with content-area department faculty and jointly advise secondary education students in their content major.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a faculty member in the Educator Preparation Program (EPP), you will be responsible for the development and instruction of undergraduate and graduate professional education courses using face-to-face and remote teaching and learning approaches. EPP faculty work with content-area department faculty and jointly advise secondary education students in their content major.

Duties include: (1) Collaborating closely with area school districts, including the supervision of field experiences and student teaching; (2) Assisting with program assessment and accreditation preparation; (3) Engaging with state and regional higher education consortiums; (4) Participating in program development, recruitment, and retention; and (4) Participating in scholarly, departmental, and institutional activities. The Educator Preparation Program delivers instruction and services to students located at the main campus, in Great Falls, and at two partnering institutions with Indian Education Development Grant projects: Fort Peck Community College in Poplar, Montana, and Aaniiih Nakoda College, in Harlem, Montana.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • PhD or EdD in literacy education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field in teacher education (ABD considered);

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Terminal degree AND 30 hours of graduate-level courses in Reading Education
  • Current or prior licensed elementary or secondary teacher with full-time teaching experience at elementary K-8 or 5-12.
  • Demonstrates experience teaching at the university level in methods foundations, and curriculum courses
  • Possesses a student-centered approach to instruction and learning
  • Holds a strong commitment to retention and recruitment in Education programs
  • Demonstrates ability to teach and work collaboratively and effectively with persons from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrates effective instructor level experiences with online and/or hybrid teaching utilizing distance and learning technologies
  • Demonstrates willingness to engage in scholarly activity/research, university committees, and community service
  • Experiences in clinical/field supervision in practicums and student teaching,
  • Experiences with program development and accreditation.

Title IX Coordinator

The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the University’s compliance with federal and state discrimination and harassment laws, including Title IX. The Title IX Coordinator oversees compliance with the University’s Discrimination and Grievance Policy. Specifically, the Title IX Coordinator:

  • Coordinates educational programs and trainings regarding discrimination and harassment prevention for students and employees;
