The Department of Radiology & Medical Imaging's Research Division is seeking candidates for a full-time Research Associate position to research genetic connections between atherosclerosis and type 2 diabetes.  The successful candidate will use biomedical and bioinformatic approaches to identify genetic factors and pathways that connect the two important diseases. Highly motivated individuals with a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. and experience in molecular biology, genetics, or small animal surgery are encouraged to apply. 

Postdoctoral employment is temporary and is normally limited to an individual who has been awarded a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within the previous five years and who will be involved in full-time research or scholarship at the University.

Employment as a Postdoctoral Research Associate is viewed as training and is preparatory for a full-time academic or research career, is supervised by a senior scholar, and allows the appointee to publish the results of his/her research or scholarship during the training period.

Primary Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Implementing research projects related to atherosclerosis and type 2 diabetes;
  • Publishing work in high quality peer-reviewed journals; and
  • Assisting in writing research applications. 

This is a restricted position; continuation is dependent on funding and satisfactory performance.

Priority review of applications will begin on March 12, 2021, but the position will remain open until filled.
