Job Description

The Postdoctoral Scholar will be expected to contribute to the Security and Governance cluster-related activities and the Divided Communities Project. Divided Communities Project duties will include research related to advancing racial equity and community resiliency.  The Security and Governance cluster will conduct research centered on social media and mis/disinformation from a comparative or international relations perspective.

Proficiency and skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods, scholarly research related to social and political violence, international security broadly conceived, conflict intervention and peacebuilding, human rights, and/or humanitarian/development fields; Responsibilities to the research cluster may include coordinating and supporting cluster research activities as well as opportunities to collaborate on cluster projects. The postdoctoral scholar will be mentored and supported in pursuing their individual research agendas. 


Minimum Education Required
Doctorate (Academic)
Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in appropriate field related to security studies by start date. Successful applicants may come from a variety of disciplines, including anthropology, communications, economics, geography, history, law, philosophy, political science, psychology, public affairs/administration, public policy, sociology, and other disciplines that engage international security broadly conceived. Proficiency and skills in computational social science, machine learning, text analysis, web scraping, data science, R, and python combined with experience in large-scale, complex data analysis is preferred.
