Summary of Job Duties:

The Postdoctoral Fellow in Environmental Dynamics will participate in a Navigating the New Arctic NSF-funded project, “Interactions of natural and social systems with climate change, globalization, and infrastructure development in the Arctic.” Duties will include coordinating and working on ecosystem ecology of the Yamal Peninsula, Russian Arctic. The Postdoctoral Fellow will spend most of their time in Arkansas, but also conduct fieldwork in Yamal each year.
This is a four-year and six-month appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Ecology or related field conferred by time of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Field experience working in the Arctic, especially with mammals, birds, and/or plants

  • Experience working on impacts of climate change on ecosystems

  • Working knowledge of Russian language


Salary Information:

Commensurate with education and experience
