Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Neurosurgery department at the Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. 
The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a graduate of a MD or PhD program in the areas of basic sciences (neuroscience preferred) to work as a Postdoctoral Fellow under the supervision of the Director of Operations of Neurosurgery. 
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Participates in ongoing research protocols for the Neurosurgery department. 
  • Views the recorded surgeries and edits for teaching in the future. 
  • Obtains research mentorship from the Chair and other key members of the research team, to develop new proposals for research related neurosurgery. 
  • Capable of presenting at research meetings and educational case conferences/grand rounds that are held in the department from time to time. 
  • Updates the editorial staff with the status of each of the manuscripts that he/she is working on at least once biweekly.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Ph.D. in biomedical sciences or related disciplines. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with high throughput sequencing and structural biology.
  • Candidates in all but degree (ABD)  status will also be considered. 
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Background in cancer biology, virology, and molecular and cellular biology.
  • Must be highly motivated with evidence of productivity.
  • Must possess strong writing skills, be well organized and have the ability to think independently.
