Postdoctoral Associate in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics
Duke University is seeking a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics(https://biostat.duke. edu/) within the School of Medicine. Position Description: The overall goal of this position funded by a new 5-year NIH project (https://tinyurl.com/yy8xwtoq) is to: (1) develop inference and dynamic prediction mod els using a wide variety of data, including clinical, wearable devices, neuroimaging, and –omics data from electronic health record, registry, a nd research initiatives; and (2) develop and apply novel statistical mod els to investigate gene by environment interactions and to utilize bioin formatics resources and high-dimensional –omics data to elucidate the bi ological significance of the statistical analysis. The postdoctoral asso ciate, under the mentorship of Dr. Sheng Luo, is requir ed to work on at least one of these objectives. The application areas in clude neurological diseases, aging research, cardiovascular diseases, an d radiology. The work will involve both methodological research with bio statistics faculty and collaboration with biomedical investigators.
Requirements and Exp ectations: A Ph.D.in statistics, biostatistics, bi oinformatics, statistical genetics or other related disciplines is requi red. Strong interest, research background and experience in the methodo logy research in functional data analysis, high-dimensional variable selection, longitudinal and survival analysis, machine/deep learning, bioin formatics methods in -omics data are preferred.
