Position Summary
The Research Technician will be primarily responsible for the maintenance of our mouse colony (genotyping, tagging, etc.) and the laboratory (ordering, safety inspections, etc.). The selected candidate will be expected to assist postdoctoral fellows as well as graduate students in biochemical, cell biological, and/or microscopy studies. We would like this position to become a permanent long term one for the right candidate.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The applicant must be self-motivated and should have some experience in wet bench laboratory techniques.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry or a related field. 
Experience with the following is highly preferred: 
- Animal handling and mouse colony maintenance
- PCR (genotyping)
- Biochemical assays, such as SDS, PAFE, and Western blotting
- Flow cytometry
- Microscopy
- Strong organizational skills
