Position Emphasis:

The candidate should be able to initiate break-through projects in the field of cardiovascular disease.  The basic duties include but not limited to (1) Initiation and designing of new research projects, (2) independently conducting translational research of cardiovascular disease, (3) collaborating with colleagues on research projects, (4) assisting PI with training high school student, undergraduate student, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows, (5) assisting PI with limited teaching, (6) assisting PI with writing grants and manuscripts, and (7) developing new research technologies for medical research in the lab and Department of Medicine-Cardiology.

 

Salary and Benefits:

 

The salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $73,000 to $80,000.

 

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD, MD, or DVM.
  • Being a postdoctoral researcher for > 4 years in development biology or genetics.
  • Being an instructor for > 4 years in cardiovascular research.
  • Publishing scientific articles in high-impact journals.

 

Required:  Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in handling model organisms, such as C. elegans and mice.
  • Expertise in human induced pluripotent stem cell biology.
  • Expertise in CRISPR or other editing approach in mammalian cells in vitro and in vivo .
  • Having experience in classroom teaching.
