The hired post-doctoral fellow will provide care coordination and mental health consultation in primary care settings. Using a collaborative care model, the post-doctoral fellow will establish relationships with primary care providers and provide mental health and substance use trainings, resources, and services to patients in primary care settings. Supervision and oversight will be provided by Drs. Berbary, Crane, and Easton.


  • Develop psychoeducation materials and online patient education resources to be distributed within primary care settings in order to promote self-management of health conditions.
  • Develop and conduct psychology trainings focused on 1) mental health and addiction psychoeducation; 2) training involving the use of evidence-based screen tools and digital tools, and 3) single-session motivational enhancement intervention trainings.
  • Establish kiosk stations within the primary care clinic in order for patients to access behavioral health tools within primary care settings.
  • Conduct ongoing review of behavioral health tool implementation and coordination with primary care.
  • Develop a guide of established community referrals.
  • Assist primary care providers in identifying the most appropriate referral source.
  • Increase capacity within RIT’s behavioral health clinic to accept primary care referrals by establishing a referral process for individuals identified as in need of outpatient behavioral health services.
  • Provide ongoing monthly consultation to primary care settings.
  • Supervise pre-doctoral intern therapy and/or assessment cases.
  • Manage a caseload of assessment clients.
  • Collect, analyze, present, and publish data related to integrated care model established

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in clinical, counseling or school psychology is required
  • Experience in evidence-based therapy (e.g., CBT, DBT, MI) and comprehensive psychological assessment
  • Experience developing and implementing digital surveys and experience collecting, analyzing and presenting mental health and substance use outcome data
