Postdoctoral Fellowships are immediately available in the Jothi Lab at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study transcriptional and epigenetic control of cell fate decisions.

The Jothi Lab use embryonic stem cell (ESC) and its differentiated derivatives as a model system to understand how transcription regulators and chromatin modifications regulate gene expression programs during cellular development and differentiation.

Successful candidates will undertake several exciting new projects in the general areas of Chromatin Biology, Epigenetics, and Transcription. They will employ a combination of molecular biology, biochemistry and functional genomics (ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq, etc) to elucidate mechanisms of gene regulation.

Candidates must have obtained a PhD degree in Biological Sciences or a related discipline within the last 5 years, with a strong background in molecular biology and/or protein biochemistry. Excellent communications skills and the ability to work on a variety of projects are essential.

NIEHS main campus is in the Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina. The RTP is the largest research park in US located between Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, and is ~20-minute drive from Duke University, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and North Carolina State University.
