Position Highlights |
The successful candidate in this position will lead a four-year field research and extension program on a USDA_NRCS Conservative Innovative Grant (CIG) on climate-smart and sustainable agroecological practices (cover crops, manure, tillage types, recycle water, and on-farm waste management) among small-scale farmers in Arizona using farmer-participatory research.

Duties & Responsibilities |
- Conduct field layout with farmers on their fields
- Conduct field sampling, data collection, and entry on soil fertility and health, plant nutrition, and yield.
- Support lab work on soil physical & chemical properties and plant shoot biomass.
- Perform data analysis using statistical packages (SAS and/ R required) for soil health, soil fertility and physical properties, plant nutrition, and yield.
- Write reports and publish peer-reviewed articles using the field data and reviews on related topics from the project, survey, and literature review data.
- Coordinate all project activities (extension field days, webinars, and
seminars), team meetings, and making conference presentations in ASA, SSSA, and
CSSA international annual meetings.

Minimum Qualifications |
- PhD in soil science, agronomy, plant science, and related fields
- Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy .

- Field research, extension, and peer-reviewed publication experiences
