The postdoctoral fellow for this position will study molecular mechanisms of cellular DNA damage responses related to cancer and again.
- Ph.D. in Biological or Biomedical Science Fields required.
- Good track record of peer-reviewed publications, required
- Expertise in DNA damage responses, DNA repair, cell cycle checkpoint signaling, cancer or aging is preferred
- Skills in Western blotting, site-directed mutagenesis, protein expression and analysis, cell cycle analysis, immunofluorescence, subcellular fractionation, mitochondria isolation, immunoprecipitation, human primary and cancer cell culturing, preferred
- Willingness to write a postdoctoral fellowship application, required.
Communication and other skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English).
- Ability to work cooperatively with a multidisciplinary research team
- Ability to perform experiments with initiative and independence, under general guidance from the PI.
Works in a research laboratory environment. Must be familiar with chemical hygiene and biosafety procedures, and willing to accept training in such procedures. Work may involve some exposure to and handling of research animals (mice), potentially biohazardous substances (recombinant DNA, retro and lentiviruses, ATCC human cell lines), and potentially hazardous chemicals (organic solvents, cancer chemotherapeutic drugs). The irregular nature of the timing of research projects may require some evening and weekend hours to complete experiments.
