Department of Pediatrics, Section of Critical Care has an opening for a full-time Associate Professor position.
Nature of Work:
The Department of Pediatrics Section of Critical Care Medicine has an opening for a full-time tenure track – Associate Professor position. This position is focused mainly on research with some small teaching components.
The faculty member will be responsible for developing and maintaining a research program centered around computational modeling and data analytics, which should be applied to the study of cardiopulmonary disease. The faculty will be responsible for securing outside funding for an independent research program and managing a team of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and technical staff. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to actively pursue funded teaching opportunities.
The Section of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and associated Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Research Laboratory (CVP) are primarily interested in linking high throughput omics data with functional and biomechanical aspects of cardiopulmonary disease. Therefore, the applicant will be expected to assist members of the section and department with ongoing projects that require statistical analysis or bioengineering support.

Position Emphasis:
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with physicians, physicists, biologists, and other disciplines to build a multi-disciplinary research program focused on bioinformatics in cardiovascular research. The applicant will be encouraged to build collaborations on the Anschutz Medical Campus and with other institutions.
- The applicant will be required to actively pursue teaching opportunities for up to 25% of his/her time.
- Supervise and mentor a team of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and technical staff.
- Serve as a general point of reference to other members of the Section and CVP laboratory with questions regarding modeling and data analytics.
- The position is expected to be financially sustainable in the future through extramural funding (e.g., NIH, AHA, DoD).
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position has been established at $105,000 to $125,000.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
