The Department of Educational Psychology (EPSY) is home to a variety of interrelated disciplines and degree options focused on human development and well-being in educational and community contexts. Our undergraduate programs prepare students to work with children and youth in a variety of community and school contexts. We also offer a range of professional master’s degrees geared towards professionals in schools, communities, and the corporate world. Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field completed by Spring 2022 or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including efficiency in email correspondence
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people and be helpful, respectful, approachable, and team oriented
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and a positive work environment
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Research experience in a clinical or developmental psychology (or related field) lab
  • Community-engaged research experience
  • Experience with SPSS and/or R

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of image and/or video design and editing (e.g., Photoshop, Canva)
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Commitment to supporting a collaborative team environment
  •  Commitment to working with youth and families of color and ability to engage effectively with individuals exposed to trauma
  •  Commitment to supporting an equitable, inclusive work climate

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day lab operations: assistance in planning lab events and meetings; developing lab operating procedures; budgeting and financial management of grants (provide monthly spending reports); purchasing and maintaining inventory of lab equipment; IRB protocol management; website management; social media outreach
  • Coordinate day-to-day research activities: assists in designing and planning research studies; recruitment and scheduling of participants; communicating with community-based agency and school staff; communicate with community advisory boards; participant database development and management; coordinating with graduate research assistants and postdoctoral research associate
  • Manage Research Personnel: Hiring, coordinating, training, evaluating, and working with undergraduate and postbaccalaureate research assistants; coordinating, training, and working with community-based research staff
  • Assistance with research dissemination: Assistance with data analysis, conference presentations, and scientific manuscripts. Other duties as assigned.
