Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Financial Analyst (Clinical Trials) in Finance Department at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The primary purpose of Financial Analyst (Clinical Trials) is to provide research specific in the post administration of industry sponsored clinical trial contracts. The role is to safeguard Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey contract resources and determine appropriate allocability and allowability in the daily administration of study budgets, maintenance of documentation from inception to close out of contracts related to clinical trial contracts.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Reviews and prepares comparative monthly analysis of account balances of current industry sponsored clinical trial costs vs. budgets.
  • Reviews and approves all industry sponsored clinical trial invoicing including patient care costs.
  • Prepares necessary documentation following checklist of clinical trial budget close outs ensuring timeliness and accuracy in reporting of final costs associated with the trial. Works closely with RFS (Research Financial Services) ensuring timely close-out of trial contracts.
  • Adheres to departmental process and procedures in the conduct of post administration of clinical trial contracts.
  • Attends training programs, modules, workshop, and seminars sponsored related to clinical trial post administration.
  • Maintains working knowledge of HIPAA, IRB and other applicable guidelines.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement

Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility . Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine . Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Finance, Accounting, Business or related field, plus three (3) years of related experience in fiscal activities.
  • Strong financial experience of industry-sponsored and non-industry sponsored clinical trials is highly desirable.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • The ideal candidate will have accounting skills, be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills and communication.
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced skill level in Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience at a non-profit and/or higher education medical center.
  • Experience with OnCore® CRMS.
  • Proficiency with state and federal policies that would impact research and grant financial activities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs.
