Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The Business Consultant (Counselor) is responsible for providing existing entrepreneurs with general business information and assistance which includes development of long-term strategic goals and objectives; expansion of personnel and human resources; management of finances to ensure stability and growth through financing from a variety of sources; and guidance on strategies to increase profit and sales revenues. This position will also document assistance provided to ensure accurate case management and compliance with contract reporting requirements.
This position reports directly to the Regional Director of the Baltimore Region. The incumbent has independent judgment and latitude in the performance of duties. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or related industry required. 3-5 years of relevant small business experience. Experience must include working with existing/established businesses. Strong financial analysis skills with proven experience using software to conduct in-depth financial analysis of small business concerns. Ability to interact with a variety of clients. Excellent interpersonal skills including outstanding communications skills, oral and written. Preferences: MBA degree preferred.
