Summary Description

Part-time faculty position teaching Emergency Medical Services (EMS) courses at Crafton Hills College. The sucessful candidate will be qualified to provide didactic, laboratory, clinical or field instruction in the Emergency Medical Technician Basic and Paramedic program.

Examples of Duties

Teaching courses in the EMS program.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in advanced life support pre-hospital care and two (2) years experience in an allied health field or related technology OR an associate’s degree and two (2) years of experience in advanced life support pre-hospital care and six (6) years of experience in an allied health field or technology.

2. Must be currently licensed as an EMT, paramedic or registered nurse in the State of California.

3. Current Emergency Services Educator certificate.

4. Experience that indicates a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical and learning disabilities.

Desired Qualifications

1. Master’s degree.

2. Knowledgeable in the course content of the National EMS Educational Standards for EMT-B and/or EMT-P.

3. Knowledgeable in the federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing pre-hospital and emergency medical care.

4. Current instructor certification in BLS, ALS, PALS, PEPP, ITLS

Working Hours Hours will vary depending on the class assigned.
Salary and Benefits

Lecture/Lab/Clinical classes $60 per hour
Non-Instructional assignments $49 per hour

4. Teaching Philosophy of your beliefs about teaching and learning. The statement or description should include examples of how you put your beliefs into practice by including concrete examples of what you do or anticipate doing in the classroom.

5. Unofficial Transcripts that show you meet the minimum educational requirement(s) for the position. Only transcripts showing the awarded minimum required degree or higher degree will be accepted. Transcripts must be legible. Transcripts must be from a US accredited institution. Transcripts from outside the US must include an official evaluation for equivalency. Copies of diplomas will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts if the position requires a degree. Official Transcripts will be required upon hire.
