Position: Dean, School of Business and Management
Type: Full Time -- Exempt Reports to: Provost/Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (www.uapb.edu) is accepting applications for the position of Dean of the School of Business and Management.
The dean is the administrative leader of the school, and is responsible for leading the faculty and staff. In addition, the dean insures that the production of scholarship, teaching and service remains at optimal levels. Appointment: Twelve month, tenured position Qualifications:
Academic credentials to include an earned terminal doctoral degree from a recognized regionally accredited institution in a discipline of Business, Economics, Accounting, Management or a closely related field;
Proven leadership experience in a public higher education institution with demonstrated administrative success;
A distinguished record in teaching, research, and service that merits appointment as a tenured professor;
Experience with instructing, advising and/or employing both undergraduate and graduate students;
Strong fiscal management skills and experience allocating and re-allocating limited resources to fulfill the priorities of the strategic plan;
Commitment to diversity at all levels;
Commitment to a culture of shared governance;
Experience with innovative practices and professional development opportunities that will enable faculty and staff to become more effective educators;
A commitment to working effectively with administrators, staff, faculty, and other stakeholders in communicating the mission of the University.

Ability to coordinate the development of and implementation of the school’s vision and goals;
Expertise in organizational management and proven leadership ability;
Managing and providing oversight of the unit’s fiscal, human, and physical resources; Experience in the process of faculty and staff selection, retention, and evaluation;
Coordination of the professional development of unit administrators, faculty, staff, and students;
Visionary leadership supporting the acquisition of human and non-human resources to support the goals of the school;
Enhancing school productivity in its instructional, research, and service missions;
Leadership and experience in building interdisciplinary collaborations with government agencies and industries with emphasis on increasing extramural funding for teaching and research programs;
Knowledge of new and emerging instructional technologies;
Skills to improve educational access and outreach by the faculty;
Personal and professional commitment to diversity;
Knowledge of current business accreditation standards;

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) is a state land-grant institution with historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) heritage. It was founded in 1873 and is the second oldest public institution of higher education in Arkansas, one of only two with a land-grant mission, and state’s only public historically black college or university.
