Job Description Summary

Responsible for supervising a shift of environment services workers.

Minimum Qualifications


  1. High School diploma.

  2. Two to three years related experience or required course work/certification.

  3. Custodial or environmental services certification preferred, (not housekeeping).

  1. Knowledge, ability, and skills at successfully using custodial equipment such as duster, massilin cloth, straight boom, push broom, dry mop, wet mop, bucket, dustpan, cutting, custodial cart, vacuum cleaner, buffer, burnisher, wet vac.

  2. Knowledge skills and ability to successfully disinfect and sanitize contact surfaces including but not limited to restrooms and all therein, hard floor surfaces, carpeted floor surfaces, walls, furniture, fixtures, railings, switches and had touch surfaces.

  3. Knowledge skills and ability at successfully and safely using cleaning equipment products to perform all the duties of respected position.

  4. Knowledge and ability and skills at successfully perform both hard floor and soft floor care.

  5. Ability to operate and learn to use and train other in the use as new custodial equipment and machinery relative to the performing of custodial work, i.e. buffers, burnishers, scrubbers, extractors, wet vacs, small hand tools, scrapers, kaivac units, pressure washers, etc.

Job Requirements


  1. Must be able to work Saturday – Sunday 10:00 am – 8:30 pm. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.

  2. Must be able to lift heavy equipment (buffers, waxers, etc.).

  3. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for long periods of time.

  4. Applicant must be able to maintain good and have reliable transportation.

  5. Must be punctual and able to maintain good attendance.

  6. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.

  7. As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.

  8. A limited background investigation will be conducted prior to offer of employment. A signed authorization for release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.
